Canadian actor Christopher Plummer dies at 91

Canadian actor Christopher Plummer, who played one of the main roles in the world famous musical film "The Sound of Music", has passed away at the age of 91, Variety reports.
He passed away surrounded by his family at home in Connecticut.
Plummer is a two-time Emmy and Tony winner, Screen Actors Guild, Academy Awards, BAFTA, Golden Globe and Independent Spirit awards.
He was born in Toronto and began his acting career in theater, but became famous for his starring role in the film adaptation of The Sound of Music, which was released in 1965 and won five Academy Awards.
Plummer himself received an Oscar in 2012 for his role in the film Beginners. In 1970, Plummer starred in Sergei Bondarchuk's Waterloo, playing the role of Duke Arthur Wellington. Plummer played Leo Tolstoy in The Last Sunday, 2009, for which he was nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe.
He also starred in the films "12 Monkeys", "A Beautiful Mind", "Lake House", "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus". Some of his last works were roles in the films "Knives Out" and "All the Money in the World".
