Cars reportedly owned by Chechen businessman affiliated with Kadyrov violate traffic rules 43 times while in Georgia

The vehicles in the motorcade allegedly belonging to Chechen businessman and former Grozny mayor Aslanbek Akhmetkhanov had violated traffic rules at least 43 times over the past two weeks while in Georgia, with the fines amounting to at least ₾7450, according to the fine receipts that are generally publicly published on the Georgian interior ministry portal. 

The appearance of the vehicles in Georgia have caused turmoil, with the opposition accusing the government of making the country “attractive” for Russians and those affiliated with the Kremlin, like Chechen president Ramzan Kadyrov. 

The fines for the vehicles with the plate numbers A777AC77, C777CE77, A777AK77, O777OC77 and B800EC797, have been issued between May 22 to June 3, on the backdrop of Russia’s ongoing aggression against Ukraine and the Kremlin’s move on May 10 to lift travel and visa restrictions with Georgia.
