Tbilisi City Court granted the motion of the Prosecutor's Office and sentenced Nika Melia, Chairman of the United National Movement, to imprisonment as a measure of restraint, for this, the court first removed his immunity.

The decision was made by Judge Nino Chakhnashvili.

During the 6-hour trial, Melia's lawyers filed a motion to dismiss Judge Nino Chakhnashvili, which was denied.

According to them, footage of the riot police training near the Special Tasks Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was spread in the media, which indicates that Nika Melia has been sentenced to imprisonment.

The prosecutor's office appealed to the court after the parliament supported the suspension of the parliamentary immunity for the chairman of the "National Movement" Nika Melia today.
