The Czech Government has approved the introduction of a visa regime for holders of Georgian diplomatic and service passports, Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský announced on Wednesday on social media.

Lipavský said the decision halts visa-free contacts with Georgian officials.

“On my initiative, the Government approved the introduction of a visa regime for holders of Georgian diplomatic and service passports. This is a response to human rights violations, the suppression of demonstrations, and the weakening of civil society. With this measure, we stop visa-free contacts with Georgian officials,” Lipavský wrote.
