Chernihiv Mayor of Ukraine Vladyslav Atroshenko says that the city cemetery can not  house all the dead as Russian troops are intentionally destroying civilian infrastructure.

He says that there are about 40 funerals per day taking place in Chernihiv.

“The city cemetery can not house all the dead, so we have to leave people in the cemetery and refrigerators longer than usual. We bury people in old cemeteries which have not  been used for a long time,” he said in a video as he drove through the streets.

Atroshenko stated that the exact number and statistics of deaths are not known yet.

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24. Hostilities have been in progress since then.
