Chief accountant in Gori City Hall arrested for appropriation 143,985 GEL for online gambling

A chief accountant of the Culture and Tourism Development Agency in Gori City Hall of central Georgia has been arrested for appropriation of GEL 143,985.13 of budgetary funds which she had transferred on  her  bank accounts to use for online gambling, the Georgian State Security Service said today.

However, the agency says that the amount of money may increase as the investigation is still in progress and the employees of the anti-corruption department are looking into accounting documents.

The suspect has already been charged with appropriation of state funds in large quantities..
