China acknowledges “smoothly” conducted elections, vows to strengthen ties with Georgia

Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian expressed China’s readiness to collaborate with the Georgian Government to enhance bilateral relations, emphasizing respect for the Georgian people’s choices following the parliamentary elections held on Saturday.

Lin highlighted that the elections were conducted “smoothly” and reaffirmed China’s commitment to supporting Georgia’s stability and prosperity. “We are willing to work with Georgia to push forward bilateral relations,” Lin stated.

According to the Central Election Commission, the ruling Georgian Dream party received 53.9 percent of the votes. Other parties included the Coalition for Change at 11 percent, Unity to Save Georgia with 10.1 percent, Strong Georgia at 8.8 percent, and Gakharia for Georgia with 7.7 percent.
