Chinese Ambassador to Georgia Zhou Qian revealed on Friday that China and Georgia would enact a visa-free agreement by the end of May and the move was anticipated to stimulate a rise in direct flights between the two nations, fostering economic and social development.
Additionally, Ambassador Zhou reiterated China’s commitment to supporting Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

“After concerted efforts with my Georgian counterparts, we are pleased to announce the upcoming implementation of the visa-free agreement between China and Georgia by the end of this month. This development is likely to facilitate a surge in direct flights between our countries in the near future. Recent initiatives spearheaded by Chinese companies are poised to contribute significantly to Georgia’s economic and social progress”, he said.

The diplomat further noted “China stands ready to deepen the substance of our strategic partnership with Georgia. It is worth noting that while the number of countries enjoying visa-free travel to China remains limited, our decision to establish this arrangement with Georgia underscores the depth of our strategic bonds. Following this agreement, individuals will be able to purchase tickets and travel to China without the inconvenience of visa procedures”.
