Civil activist Salome Barker Nikoleishvili reported on Tuesday that fellow activist Zuka Berdzenishvili was attacked outside his residence, shortly after accusations made by Parliamnet Speaker Shalva Papuashvili.

According to Nikoleishvili, the assault occurred within an hour of a statement made by Papuashvili and was re[ortidely confronted by three assailants who were waiting for him in a car. The attackers approached him from behind and then fled the scene, she said.

Papuashvili accused foreign donors of alleged normalizing terror by supporting politically extreme organizations.

In a social media post, Papuashvili claimed that the recent incidents involving “angry citizens” for the adoption of the foreign agents’ law, were not spontaneous protests but rather organized and politically motivated terror campaigns carried out in the name of Europe.

The official named Berdzenaishvili, who is son of a politician David Berdzenishvili, among those allegedly attacking MPs.
