Georgian clubs, which have been closed for almost two years due to the pandemic and are now demanding from the government to allow them reopen, have been permitted to hold events on December 31 and January 1 in line with coronavirus guidelines and in a ‘limited manner.’

Only fully vaccinated individuals or those who have already had the virus, and the ones who will present a negative PCR test performed in the past 48 hours will be allowed to attend the events.

The club owners say that if the government continues its policy towards clubs, it will end up with the ‘full collapse of the business in Georgia.’

They expected that the government would have allowed clubs to open starting December 25. However, the government says that the move will lead to a surge in daily infections as Omicron variant is circulating in the country.
