Russia claims the “collective west” is trying to force the Georgian government to open a second front in Georgia in the background of the Kremlin’s ongoing aggression against Ukraine.
“Emphasis was placed on continuous efforts of the collective West to shift the epicenter of confrontation from Ukraine to the South Caucasus, which is manifested in provocative calls to Tbilisi, to open a second front against Russia in Abkhazia and South Ossetia [in reference to Georgia’s Russian-occupied regions]”, the Russian foreign office said following the 57th Geneva International Discussions on Georgian conflict.
“Such dangerous statements require an immediate response from the international discussions in Geneva and the organizations represented by them,” the Russian body added.
The current Georgian authorities also accuse “radical domestic and foreign forces” of taking actions to “drag Georgia” in the conflict.
