Congressman Bacon on Georgia: we need to arm our partners

Congressman Don Bacon says that imposing sanctions alone against Russia to suspend its aggressive actions against neighbors is not enough.  

 

After a meeting with the ruling Georgian Dream party representatives in Washington, Bacon wrote that ensuring armament for Georgia is also crucial.  

 

“I met with representatives of the nation of Georgia,  David Bakradze, Irakli Beraia, Nikoloz Samkharadze to discuss defense strategy against Russian meddling in sovereign nations. Sanctions are not enough. We need to arm our partners to make the invasion costly before it’s too late,” Bacon tweeted.  Russia occupies 20 percent of the Georgian territory and continues creeping occupation of historic Georgian lands.
