Coronavirus cases still surge in Georgia, hitting daily 5,553

Georgia has reported 5,553 new cases of coronavirus of 48,901 tests, 4,223 recoveries and 47 deaths in the past 24 hours. 

46,957 remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia as of today. 

 

The country has confirmed 727,941 cases of coronavirus since February 2020, of which 669,822 individuals have recovered and 10,136 have died from the virus. 

 

The new cases for Tbilisi and regions are as follows:

Adjara – 149

Imereti – 1,189

Kvemo Kartli – 317

Shida Kartli – 512

Guria – 132

Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti – 448

Kakheti – 657

Mtskheta-Mtianeti – 149

Samtskhe-Javakheti – 123

Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti – 836

 

493 patients are currently undergoing treatment in hospitals, while 39,361 others are at home as they have a mild form of the virus. 

 

1,982,593 individuals have received at least one dose of the vaccine in the country since March 2021, of which  942,397 have been fully vaccinated.
