Coronavirus cases surge in Georgia , hitting daily 5,219

Georgia has reported 5,219 new cases of coronavirus, 2,348 recoveries and 42 deaths in the past 24 hours.

57, 301 Covid tests were conducted in the reported period, including 36, 635 antigen tests and 20, 666 PCR tests.

The total number of confirmed cases since the outbreak of the Covid pandemic in Georgia in February 2020 stands at 675, 771.

As for the positive rate, as of October 19-the daily positive rate is 9.11%, for the last 14 days-8.79,  for the last 7 days-9.02%.

The total number of recoveries since March 2020 stands at 619, 285.

9,588 individuals have died from the virus since March 2020.
