Coronavirus in Georgia: weekly positivity rate down to 6.86%

Georgia has reported 3,123 new cases of coronavirus of 48,899 tests, 4,215 recoveries and 39 deaths in the last 24 hours. 

 

The weekly positivity rate for tested individuals stands at 6.86% which is a decrease compared to previous weeks. 

 

The new cases for Tbilisi and regions are as follows: 

Tbilisi – 1,430 cases

Imereti – 481 cases

Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti – 214 cases

Kakheti – 160 cases

Adjara – 243 cases

Guria – 88 cases

Shida Kartli – 211 cases

Kvemo Kartli – 115 cases

Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti – 17 cases

 

New strain of coronavirus – Omicron- has not been reported in the country so sar. 

 

However, Georgian health officials say it may enter the country in the near future.
