Counselor of the US Department of State Chollet: we stand united in support of Ukraine, Georgia

Counselor of the US Department of State Derek Chollet has tweeted that he spoke with Georgian FM David Zalkaliani “about Russia’s premeditated, unprovoked and unjustified attack against Ukraine” and the continuing occupation of Georgia. 

“We stand united with Ukraine and Georgia in support of their sovereignty and territorial integrity,” he said. 

The US has imposed sanctions against Russia for its recent moves to invade the country. 

However, Kyiv says that the sanctions are not enough to stop Russia ‘which poses threats to world security.”
