Tbilisi City Court on Friday banned a member of the pro-Russian, homophobic Conservative Movement from using a video depicting an underage daughter of a journalist in Formula channel, Eliso Jariashvili.
A distorted video depicting the minor had been circulated earlier this month, during Tbilisi Pride events promoting the rights of sexual minorities, with the members of the pro-Kremlin group accusing the opposition, “affiliated” TV channels, and domestic NGOs of LGBT propaganda in the youth.
Jariashvili claimed the country’s Interior Ministry had refused to react to the incident due to her work in the critical media and violated the minor’s rights.
She said the ruling had “exposed the system” and pledged the continuation of the legal fight.
The court also issued a protective order on the child.
