Covid daily cases hit 15,762 in Georgia

Georgia has reported 15,762 cases in Georgia of 74,200 tests over the past 24 hours.  It is a record high figure since the country confirmed its first case of the virus in February 2020.  The majority of the new cases are Omicron.  The positivity rate as of January 24 is 21 percent.  

 

The new cases for Tbilisi and regions are as follows:  Tbilisi – 8 357 cases, 

 

Adjara – 1 608,

 

Imereti – 1 907,

 

Kvemo Kartli – 727, 

 

Shida Kartli – 794, 

 

Guria – 290, 

 

Samegrelo – Zemo Svaneti – 721,

 

Kakheti-626,

 

Mtskheta-Mtianeti – 376, 

 

Samtskhe-Javakheti – 282 ,

 

Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti -74. 87,609 individuals remain infected with Covid-19 as of now.
