The Georgian Culture Minister, former Justice Minister Tea Tsulukiani, advised President Salome Zourabichvili on Friday to hire a good lawyer as her positions and decisions to approve ambassadors proposed by the authorities were unlawful.

Tsulukiani said that Zourabichvili and “other Presidents” [allegedly referring to  the fourth President Giorgi Margvelashvili] had failed to understand their rights and obligations in the parliamentary republic.

“The president has admitted herself that she had violated the constitution through not approving an ambassador, which will speak against her during upcoming trial hearings in the Constitutional Court,” Tsulukiani said, referring to the government lawsuit against Zourabichvili over the rights of appointment of ambassadors.

Tsulukiani also criticised the President for her statement that she disapproved of the appointment of current Georgian Ambassador to the US David Bakradze as Georgia’s new envoy to the UN as the latter “had done nothing in the post over the past five years.”

Tsulukiani described Bakradze as a top level diplomat, with “serious deeds” for Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic integration process.
