Day of Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred – today is the seventh anniversary of the massacres on the Maidan

Today, February 20, Ukraine recalls one of the tragic pages of its history and honors the memory of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred. This year marks the seventh anniversary of the bloody events on the Maidan during the Revolution of Dignity.

The Day of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred is celebrated in Ukraine annually in accordance with the Presidential Decree of February 11, 2015 "On honoring the feat of the participants in the Revolution of Dignity and perpetuating the memory of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred."

It was on this day in 2014 that the largest number of protesters died on the Maidan. There are 107 people on the lists of the heroes of the Heavenly Hundred, 48 of them died on February 20.

Today the "Bell of Dignity" will sound 107 times, and at 18:00 on the Alley of Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred there will be a memorial service for the dead, after which the "rays of Dignity" will be lit.
