Russia launches large-scale drone and missile strikes across Ukraine

Russia has carried out a large-scale, combined artillery and aerial assault on Ukraine on Friday, employing more than 500 drones and cruise missiles. Residential buildings, shopping centers, and even a veterinary clinic were targeted, resulting in multiple casualties.
According to Ukrainian authorities, the Russian forces launched 37 missiles and 542 drones. Air defense systems intercepted 25 missiles and 515 drones.
In the Kyiv Oblast, an airstrike hit a high-rise building and a veterinary clinic, killing 20 animals, one person, and injuring eight others.
In Kharkiv, over two days, 37 strikes damaged 25 high-rise buildings and a church, leaving five people wounded.
Zhytomyr Oblast reported one death and four injuries after debris from the strikes trapped residents. Fifteen homes were damaged.
In Sumy, a shopping center in the city center was hit, injuring four people, including a minibus driver.
In Poltava, a high-rise building and a garage were damaged, and one person was injured.
The attacks also caused power outages and additional infrastructure damage across Sumy, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zaporizhzhia.
