Deadly tornadoes and storms devastate southeastern US, killing at Least 34

At least 34 people have died as powerful tornadoes and severe storms swept across southeastern US states, leaving destruction in their wake. Missouri was hit the hardest, with 12 fatalities reported, while Mississippi recorded six deaths.

In Kansas, a massive dust storm caused a deadly highway pile-up involving over 55 vehicles, claiming at least eight lives. Another dust storm in Texas resulted in a 38-car crash, leaving three dead.

More than 250,000 properties lost power across seven states, including Michigan, Missouri, and Illinois. Authorities have issued tornado watches for Louisiana, Georgia, Tennessee, and Florida, while flash flooding remains a major threat in Mississippi, Louisiana, Tennessee, Alabama, and Arkansas.

Missouri’s emergency management agency confirmed at least 19 tornadoes across 25 counties, with entire homes reduced to rubble. Officials warn that more severe weather is expected, urging residents to seek shelter immediately.
