For the first time since 2007 more deaths have been reported in Georgia than births.

Plus 1,637 children were born in 2019, while the figure was minus 4,017 in 2020.

The coronavirus pandemic has increased deaths in the country by five percent.

Marriages have decreased by about 7,000 in Georgia in 2020 compared with 2019 when the figure stood at 16,359.

Experts say that the decrease is linked with the pandemic and that the improvement is unlikely in 2021.
