Deaths reach 25 in Shovi landslide

The 25th victim in a deadly Shovi landslide, in Georgia’s western Racha region, was found on Monday, with eight still missing, official sources have confirmed. 

 

The landslide hit  the resort area in the afternoon on August 3. 

 

800 professionals are now involved in search and rescue efforts. 

 

The rescue efforts will continue until there is the “slightest chance” of finding the bodies, officials said on Monday, adding at least 26 percent of the disaster zone had remained to be inspected.
