Defender Europe 21 exercises of NATO troops have started in more than ten countries.
More than 30 thousand military personnel from 27 countries of the world are taking part in the exercises, which began at 30 training grounds, Anadolu agency reported.
According to the US Army Europe Command, a significant number of US air and naval forces are participating in Defender Europe 21.
The exercises involve the main land and sea routes connecting Europe, Asia and Africa.
New high-tech capabilities will be deployed, including air and missile defense capabilities, as well as capabilities for support brigades of the US security forces and the recently rebuilt Fifth Army Corps.
Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said the exercise will end in June with a redeployment of forces and equipment based in the United States.
