Khatia Dekanoidze, the head of the United National Movement opposition party in parliament, on Tuesday announced her quitting the position.

“I really do not like when statements are made without concrete change. Therefore, in my opinion, populist politics should be ended once and for all, not only in the party, but in general.I am going to appeal to the chairman of the parliament to leave the parliamentary post”, said Dekanoidze.

The decision follows the recent elections for the party chairmanship, with incumbent Nika Melia defeated by a fellow member of the party Levan Khabeishvili.
