Deputy health minister: criteria for Covid green passports may be revised

Georgian deputy health minister Tamar Gabunia says that criteria for green Covid passports may be revised in Georgia as the Omicron strain of coronavirus is spreading rapidly in the country.
Green passports came into play in Georgia starting December 1 and it is given to :
Fully vaccinated individuals
Those who have recovered from coronavirus
Those with negative PCR test certificates conducted within the last 72 hours
People with negative rapid test results conducted within the last 24 hours
Gabunia said that the Omicron strain, unlike the Delta strain, does not require hospitalization in the majority of cases.
She said that 40 online clinics have been added to the list to help the individuals infected with Covid-19 receive proper treatment at home.
Gabunia said that the government plans to change terms for coronavirus quarantine which will be announced in the coming days.
Head of Georgia’s National Centre for Disease Control Amiran Gankrelidze says that 60 percent of confirmed new cases in Tbilisi are Omicron, while the figure stands at 30 percent in the regions.
