Georgian volunteer killed by Russian troops in Ukraine repatriated

Irakli Kurtsikidze, a 25-year-old Georgian volunteer who was killed by Russian troops in Ukraine earlier this month, was repatriated to his homeland on Thursday.  Kurtsikidze was a professional soldier and fought in Ukraine since the launch of Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022. 

 

He was killed by a shell explosion during an offensive against the occupiers.

 

More than 50 Georgian volunteers have been killed in Ukraine by the Russian military since March 2022.
