A protest march is scheduled in Tbilisi today, marking one year since nationwide demonstrations began over EU integration issues.

The march will start at 19:00 from the first building of Tbilisi State University and the old Public Broadcaster building. From 20:00, participants are expected to move toward the parliament.

Opposition politicians, civil activists, and representatives from various professional sectors, including university professors, are joining the event.

The protests began on 28 November 2024, following Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze’s announcement that discussions on opening negotiations with the European Union would not take place before 2028. Over the past year, dozens of demonstrators, including politicians, have been detained, while both civil activists and media representatives have reported injuries.
