Tbilisi City Hall has announced the launch of a new transport infrastructure improvement project at the intersection of Grigol Robakidze Avenue and Akaki Beliashvili Street in the Didube district. The initiative is part of the city's broader plan to enhance public transport and urban mobility.

According to the Transport and Urban Development Agency, the aim of the project is to increase the efficiency of public transportation. A new bus route will be introduced, providing a more direct connection from Akaki Beliashvili Street to Tsereteli Avenue. This is expected to reduce travel time and improve overall comfort for passengers.

In the first phase, changes will apply to bus route No. 306, which will eventually be served by new 18-meter-long buses with higher passenger capacity.

The project also includes a full reconstruction of existing traffic islands, upgraded sidewalks, and the creation of a dedicated bus lane. In addition, green islands will be installed in the area, and the pedestrian infrastructure will be fully modernized. This includes new ramps, zebra crossings, and accessibility adaptations for people with disabilities.

In the final stage of the project, new road markings, traffic signs, and traffic lights will be installed.

City Hall says the initiative will enhance safety, speed, and comfort for passengers and significantly improve the overall effectiveness of public transportation in Tbilisi.
