A doctor in Georgia’s southern Akhaltsikhe municipality clinic on Wednesday was charged with abuse of official duties which caused the death of a nurse in the same clinic last year, following the Covid vaccination with AstraZeneca vaccine.

The Prosecutor’s Office said the doctor ‘abandoned’ the patient despite obvious allergic reactions after several minutes from being vaccinated and left the facility for “illegitimate reasons”.

Bakradze died with anaphylaxis on the next day due to delayed first aid.

The doctor faces up to five years in prison if found guilty in the charge. However, she earlier had also been charged with providing false information in the same incident and the case is now pending.
