Edison Research polls: Georgian Dream, UNM, Gakharia’s For Georgia’s party on top of list

The Edison Research polls commissioned by the opposition-minded Formula TV say that the Georgian Dream ruling party will receive 33 percent of votes in the upcoming municipal elections, the United National Movement opposition party – 25 percent, while former PM Giorgi Gakharia’s For Georgia party will come third with 10 percent of votes. 

 

According to the polls 55 percent of voters are positive for the Georgian Dream candidate for Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, as well as for Gakharia, while 45 percent are positive for the UNM head Nika Melia. 

 

All the three are running for Tbilisi mayor. 

 

78 percent of interviewees said that the death of journalist Lekso Lashkarava was ‘fully or partially’ related to his injuries received during an anti-LGBT  rally of right-wing activists in central Tbilisi on July 5. 

 

According to the polls 62 percent of individuals trust the public defender’s office.
