Eight countries will deliver German-made Leopard tanks to Ukraine. In addition, the United States and the Czech Republic will additionally transfer the T-72, Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin said on Tuesday.

He stressed the US, Germany and the Netherlands would provide Ukraine with American-made Patriot air defense systems. In turn, France and Italy would transfer SAMP/T air defense systems.

Austin also noted that a dozen countries had already joined the tank coalition, adding Leopard tanks would  be handed over by Germany, Poland, Canada, Portugal, Spain, Norway, Denmark and the Netherlands, and other weapons by the US and the Czech Republic.

The US official added that other countries had  agreed to help by supplying ammunition in aid of Ukraine for its fight against the ongoing Russian invasion.
