Transparency International Georgia, a non-governmental organization, will maintain its election monitoring work, utilizing its expertise and experience to safeguard voters’ rights, according to its director, Eka Gigauri.

Gigauri emphasized that the organization will observe the upcoming elections in partnership with other organizations as part of a coalition.

“Transparency International Georgia will continue its election monitoring efforts. While we will directly oversee election day under our umbrella, it’s important to note that we are also part of the ‘My Vote’ monitoring mission. In collaboration with our partner organizations within this coalition, we will proceed with monitoring, just as we have since our organization’s founding,” Gigauri said.

She also highlighted that Transparency International Georgia has monitored nearly every election in the country, and the organization will draw upon its extensive experience to ensure the protection of voters’ voices.

Regarding the recent decision by Georgia’s Anti-Corruption Bureau to reverse its controversial ruling, which had labeled Transparency International Georgia and its executive director as entities with an electoral agenda, Gigauri dismissed the bureau’s claims as groundless.

“They’ve attempted to find some justification, but everything stated at the press conference is a lie,” Gigauri remarked.
