Elene Khoshtaria, one of the leaders of the Coalition for Change, has said she ‘strongly opposes” any negotiations over her imprisonment, according to a letter sent from detention.

In the statement on Tuesday, Khoshtaria described herself as a political prisoner and said she “strictly forbids” any individual or group from engaging in dialogue about her freedom with Georgian Dream.

She was referring to what she said was part of another party’s [Lelo for Georgia] “doctrine” involving discussions on political prisoners with the ruling party.

“It is surprising that this position is better understood outside the country than by some within it,” she wrote.
