Irakli Kobakhidze, the head of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Thursday criticized the recently adopted resolution by the European Parliament, which called for sanctions on the party founder Bidzina Ivanishvili and called on the release of imprisoned former president Mikheil Saakashvili, and said it “not worth of a dime”.

He also said the justice ministry on Wednesday released a footage on Saakashvili’s condition in the Vivamedi clinic to “put en end” to  “400-day” speculations and “fake claims” by the former president’s entourage on his torture and ill-treatement.

Saakashvili’s lawyers, however, say that the ruling party is “trading” with Georgia’s European Integration agenda when it comes to Ivanishvili and Saakashvili.

They also plan to sue the justice minister for the release of the footage, in which Saakashvili reportedly abuses the medical personnel.
