Andrii Yermak, the recently resigned head of the Ukrainian Presidential Office, on Saturday said he was departing for the front line and was prepared to face any consequences amid the corruption scandal surrounding him.

“I am an honest and decent person. I am going to the front line and am ready for any punitive measures. My dignity was tarnished and not protected, despite the fact that I remained in Kyiv after February 24, 2022. I do not want to create problems for President [Volodymyr] Zelenskyy - I am going to the front,” Yermak stated.

Yermak resigned from his post on Friday, shortly after Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) conducted a search of his office and home as part of an investigation into alleged high-level corruption.
