Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Tuesday held separate meetings with leaders of parliamentary factions and groups in the Verkhovna Rada, in what lawmakers described as an unprecedented format in recent years.
According to MP Oleksiy Goncharenko, the President met with representatives of several parliamentary groups, including Dovira, Platform for Life and Peace, Restoration of Ukraine, For the Future, as well as faction leaders from Batkivshchyna, Holos, European Solidarity and the inter-factional group Smart Politics.
Goncharenko noted that this format of consultations had not taken place during Zelenskyy’s seven years in office, calling it the first such round of separate meetings with faction leaders.
The discussions reportedly lasted around six hours, with each group leader meeting the president individually. While a range of issues were raised beyond parliamentary work, further details of the talks have not been disclosed.
