Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna has proposed placing the suspension of visa liberalization for Georgia on the EU agenda.

He emphasized the necessity of initiating this discussion to convey a clear message to the Georgian government amid its decision to halt EU integration until 2028 and ongoing protests in the country.

Tsahkna said “the objective is to send a strong, unambiguous signal to the authorities.” This proposal follows recent actions by the EU to suspend the visa-free regime for Georgian diplomatic passport holders.
