EU allocates over €345 mln for Georgia’s security from 2008 to 2024

The European Union’s External Action Service (EEAS) has revealed financial support dedicated to strengthening Georgia’s security. 

 

According to newly published data, the European Union Monitoring Mission (EUMM), operational in Georgia since 2008, has seen over 345 million euros invested in its mission over the past 16 years.

Within the scope of this mission in Georgia over 345 million euros were spent from 2008 to 2024 and the budget for 2023-2024 amounted to over 47 million euros.

The mission’s objectives include maintaining long-term stability and preventing hostilities, promoting a safe and normal life for the population living along the occupation line with Georgia’s currently Russian-controlled Abkhazia and Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) regions, and building trust between conflict parties.

“We continue to support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia,” said the EEAS in a post on the social network X.
