Johannes Hahn, the European Commissioner for Budget and Administration, on Thursday hailed his recent meeting with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili in Davos as “good”.

“We discussed the next steps on the country’s European Union accession path, domestic and global economic developments and the impact of the war in Ukraine on Georgia”, the EU official tweeted.

Garibashvili met Hahn on the sidelines of the ongoing World Economic Forum.

The Georgian government press office said the dynamic of implementation of the EU recommendations for the country’s EU candidacy, Georgia’s “considerable progress toward European integration, and the key directions of the Georgia-EU cooperation agenda”, had been discussed with Hahn.

The Government Administration also said Garibashvili had pledged his country remained as a reliable ally for the EU in the region.
