Two activists injured in attack at Europe Square in Tbilisi

An attack on activists took place at Europe Square in Tbilisi on Friday, leaving two people injured, including a member of the opposition United National Movement, Igor Narmania.

Data Kashiashvili, one of the participants, said students had gathered to hold a joint briefing ahead of the October 4 rally when a group of seven individuals assaulted them.

According to Kashiashvili, Narmania and another activist, a 15-year-old minor, sustained head injuries during the incident. Emergency medical services were called to the scene.

Witnesses said the attackers appeared to be armed with blunt objects.
