Georgia’s former PM under Georgian Dream leadership, who went into the opposition earlier this year and is now running for Tbilisi Mayor, has stated that he is ready to test for drugs abroad, in an international lab and not in Tbilisi, at Samkharauli Forensics Bureau.
The statement comes on the heels of incumbent Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze’s testing for drugs and encouraging his opponents to do so.
Gakharia says that he has information that a provocation was staged against him if he tested for drugs in Tbilisi.
He also said that Kaladze is trying to make some ‘hints’ when he is ‘continuously speaking on the drug test.’
Gakharia says that he is ready to test his hair in one of European clinics which is the ‘most reliable’ analyses for drugs and make the result public as soon as it is available.
He has also invited Kaladze for debates on Imedi TV ‘which is biased for the ruling party,’ and the joint opposition candidate for Tbilisi Mayor Nika Melia on Mtavari Arkhi ‘which is biased for opposition.’
