Giorgi Gakharia, Georgia’s former Prime Minister and current leader of the For Georgia opposition party, has dismissed recent reports suggesting a potential electoral alliance with the Lelo opposition party for the October 26 general elections.

Gakharia, who resigned from both the Georgian Dream party and his position as Prime Minister in 2021 due to internal disagreements, reaffirmed that For Georgia intended to participate in the elections independently. He emphasized that the party’s decision to run solo has remained consistent.

“We were the first party to announce our intent to compete independently in the upcoming elections, and that position has not changed. Should there be any new developments, we will promptly inform the public and our supporters,” Gakharia stated.
