Mikheil Saakashvili, Georgia’s former president, has been transferred to a new ward at the Vivamed Clinic, according to Zurab Chkhaidze, the clinic’s clinical director. Chkhaidze clarified on Monday that Saakashvili’s conditions had not worsened, despite recent changes.

“Due to ongoing structural changes in the clinic, a new department was added, necessitating the use of the floor where Saakashvili was being treated. Consequently, we moved him to a different ward. His conditions have actually improved – previously he was in a two-room suite, and now he is in a three-room suite,” Chkhaidze told the press.

This clarification came after Giuli Alsania, Saakashvili’s mother, expressed concerns about the ward change, noting that her son now lacked a TV in the new suite.
