Irakli Kobakhidze, the head of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Tuesday said the latest statements made by the currently imprisoned former President Mikheil Saakashvili had served as “evidence” about an alleged alliance between the United National Movement opposition and President Salome Zourabichvili.
In his comments on Monday, Saakashvili praised Zourabichvili for labeling Bidzina Ivanishvili, the founder of the ruling Georgian Dream party and the former Prime Minister as the “only oligarch” in the country and claimed if Zourabichvili pardoned him, she would avoid the “responsibility” for his imprisonment.
“His [Saakashvili’s] actions are unserious, his simulation is unserious, and his return to politics from simulation is also unserious. His statements confirm Zourabichvili is in alliance with the collective UNM”, Kobakhidze said.
