External trade, import on upward trend in Georgia

External Merchandise Trade (excluding non-declared trade) of Georgia amounted to USD 8 467.6 million in January-June 2022, which is 35.2 percent higher year-on-year, the National Statistics Office of Georgia said on Wednesday.

 

The agency said that the value of export increased by 35.1 percent reaching USD 2 548.7 million, while the import increased by 35.3 percent and amounted to USD 5 918.9 million.

 

The trade deficit equaled USD 3 370.2 million and its share in trade turnover amounted to 39.8 percent
