In Batumi, western Georgia, the Progress School received a false bomb threat, as confirmed by Nino Chikvashvili, the school’s founder, in a statement to Front News.

Chikvashvili revealed the school received a threatening letter via mail, in which an unidentified individual demanded the evacuation of the premises under the threat of detonating an explosive device.

“This incident has been deemed a false alarm. It’s important to note that School Progress operates across three branches in Kutaisi, Batumi, and Tbilisi. The email received did not specify which branch was targeted. Consequently, we promptly alerted emergency services, including 112 and the Ministry of Education, who swiftly implemented the necessary safety protocols,” Chikvashvili noted.

Authorities have initiated an investigation into the matter.
