Famous Georgian actor Kakhi Kavsadze died at the age of 85.
Kakhi Kavsadze has been in the first university clinic for the last few weeks. Kakhi Kavsadze was also admitted to the first university clinic at the end of last year with a diagnosis of coronavirus.
Kakhi Kavsadze graduated from the acting faculty of the Shota Rustaveli Theater Institute in 1959 and became an actor at the Rustaveli Academic Theater. Notable are his theatrical roles: Adam ("Divine Comedy"), Prince Kotsia ("Yesterday"), Devdariani ("Indictment"), Iliko ("Me, Grandma, Iliko and Hilarion"), Simon Chachava ("Caucasian Chalk Circle") ), Lord Hastings ("Richard III"), Kent ("King Lear"), Rasputin ("Kvachi Kvachantiradze"), Mr. Devi ("Then what, that wet lilac is wet").
He made his film debut in the 1950s. Has starred in more than 70 feature, documentary, short and feature films. Kakhi Kavsadze created prominent characters in the films: "Autumn Sun" (Samson), "Melodies of Vera District" (Innocence), "The Christmas Tree" (Yoram), "Repentance" (Mikheil Koresheli), "Life of Don Quixote and Sancho" (Don Quixote) ).
Kakhi Kavsadze was an Honored Artist of Georgia. He was awarded a number of prizes – he was a laureate of the Shota Rustaveli State Prize, a laureate of the Kote Marjanishvili State Prize, he has received the Ipolite Khvichia Prize "Ipo". In 2008, a star named Kakhi Kavsadze was opened in front of the Rustaveli Theater.
