Police have arrested several far-right activists, including Guram Palavandishvili and his son, at a rally in front of the EU headquarters in Tbilisi.

The demonstrators displayed photos of diplomats with insulting captions and then tried to burn the EU flag.

After the incident the police started arresting the rally participants.

Situation remains tense at the scene.

Palavandishvili and his supporters claim that the EU is “fighting against’ the Christian religion, Georgian values and tradition.

Instead they support “friendly relations” with Russia.
